Boys & Girls Club of Bowling Green hosts open house for summer season

BOWLING GREEN, Ky – The Boys and Girls Club of Bowling Green hosted an open house to allow parents to tour the facility with their kids.

The summer session gets underway Monday, and the kids that dropped by got to tour their classrooms as well as learn about what’s in store this season.

In the spring, staff decorated the building with a touring the world theme, but for summer, they’re heading to the campgrounds for a fun time.

Since parents aren’t normally allowed in the building while kids are there, this gives them a chance to see what’s in store.

“We want them to be able to match some names with faces and be able to recognize the spaces… then when our kids come home and tell them we’ve done this or we’ve done that today. We’d like for our parents to be involved and see our building,” Danielle Violette, the site manager for the Boys and Girls Club of Bowling Green, says.

Staff were also on hand to talk about the programming and fun that will be offered this summer, including trips to the water park and Beech Bend.
