WKU Player of the Week: Lady Topper golfer Sydney Hackett

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – This week’s WKU Athletics Player of the Week honor goes to Lady Topper golfer Sydney Hackett.

Hackett became just the second Lady Hilltopper ever to win an individual conference title for the WKU Women’s Golf Team after capturing the top spot last Wednesday.

She shot a score of 67 on day three, which was 5-under par and tied her for first place, sending her into a playoff with New Mexico State’s Emma Bunch.

Hackett would birdie on the first playoff hole, which would lead the way to her taking first place overall.

The victory was the second of her career and continued an amazing spring season for the junior, who has placed within the top-10 in all six events in 2025.

Her performance in St. Augustine, Florida also assisted the Lady Toppers in winning the Conference USA Championship as a team, which was the first instance in the program’s 48-year history.
