Volunteers gather for Earth Day cleanup at Mammoth Cave National Park
MAMMOTH CAVE, Ky.- Across the nation, many people are celebrating Earth Day, and one local park is doing its part.
Mammoth Cave National Park is making people aware of how important it is to take care of the Earth by picking up trash and restoring some areas of the park by planting trees.
Mary Shubert, a Mammoth Cave volunteer, shares the importance.
She says, “We’re going to pick up trash along the parkways, the roads in the park. And also, since we’ve had so many storms in the park, we’re going to have teams walking to the trails and help picking up sticks and clearing out the trails and, anybody can help or, you know, it doesn’t have to be on Earth Day or a special event. “
Mammoth Cave National Park wants everyone to know that no good deed is too small.
