Emergency responders train at the Bowling Green Regional Airport

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – On Monday, first responders in our area experienced an annual aviation training at the Bowling Green Regional Airport.

The is is one of the three days included in the safety training. Local fire departments, police, and EMS were in attendance.

The group reviewed protocols and procedures adopted by the Federal Aviation Administration before putting their knowledge to the test. Various groups went through possible scenarios from medical emergencies to a plane fire.

Susan Harmon, BG Airport Manager, says inclusivity is a must. She adds that “communication is key” which is why the airport “invite[s] everyone” to the drills.

Harmon says ensuring that “we work as a team” fosters unity with the community. She is hopeful that is training helps both vets and newbies in this line of work.
