Sunrise Spotlight: Summer Teen Ambassador Program at Med Center Health
On today’s Sunrise Spotlight, News 40’s Carlyle Coppins is sitting down with Joe Thompson, the Manager of Volunteer Services with Med Center Health. Together, they discussed the Summer Teen Ambassador Program and how you can get involved.
Ambassadors spend time volunteering and shadowing healthcare professionals across The Medical Center at Bowling Green. They are divided into groups, and each day the groups rotate through different departments throughout the hospital. Opportunities available with the Teen Ambassador Program include shadowing surgical technicians, visiting the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit and the Intensive Care Unit floors, and so much more.
The program runs from June 16 – July 25. Students accepted into the program will be at the hospital every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. during the six-week session. The application is open to all high school students, including 2025 graduating seniors. To apply, please visit: https://medcenterhealth.org/teen-ambassador-program/. The deadline to apply is 5:00 p.m. on Monday, April 21.
