King of the Heap comes to the track

BOWLING GREEN Ky.-Some old cars valued at $1,000 or less will be hitting the track during some weekends in Bowling Green.

An event called King of the Heap takes place at the National Corvette Museum’s Motorsports Park. For the past 4 years, it’s been held on the first weekend of every month, December through March.

In addition to track time, drivers can also take their old cars on autocross courses. Drivers can also trade their vehicles with other owners.

Track operations owner Matt Busby said he hopes to see some new faces at this event.

“We like the program a lot because it introduces the facility and getting on the track and all that fun stuff to folks that have never been here before, which is great for us,” Busby said.

King of the heap will start the first weekend each month through March at 7:30 a.m. and conclude at 5 p.m.
