Women’s History Month at Aviation Heritage Park
BOWLING GREEN, KY.-The Aviation Heritage Park is finding unique ways to highlight the contributions of both women and men who continue to make a difference in the world of aviation. We had the opportunity to sit down with Cara Pitchford, a dedicated volunteer who works behind the scenes to bring these stories to life. “It’s not just a man’s world behind all of these heroes. There’s always been a woman. Always. Whether it was a mother or their spouse,” she shared. “Our mission here at the museum is to never let these stories be forgotten.”
Pitchford emphasized the importance of keeping aviation stories alive, not only to honor those who paved the way but to inspire future generations. “We plan to have a display about spouses and the sacrifices they make to promote these heroics,” she added. “I hope children are encouraged to pursue whatever their career aspirations are.” The Aviation Heritage Park is expanding its exhibit to further highlight the roles men and women play in aviation, and News Forty will continue to keep you updated on the latest developments.
