Navy officers inspire students at Warren Central High School
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Navigating life after high school can be challenging, but a recent visit from naval officers at Warren Central High School aimed to provide guidance and opportunities for students. The students had the chance to hear from Chief Petty Officer Jordan Clayton, who shared his own life experiences and the opportunities available through the Navy.
Clayton, a U.S. Navy veteran, connected with the students by relating to their uncertainties about life after high school. “I feel like it wasn’t that long ago when I was 17, sitting in a high school seat, not really knowing what I was going to do,” Clayton said. “To relate with them and provide the opportunities that helped change my life is a blessing.”
The presentation offered valuable information and gave students a fresh perspective on their futures. Dray Moppins, a senior at Warren Central, shared how impactful the visit was for him. “It was really influential,” Moppins said. “Having Navy men in my family and finally getting to meet them was eye-opening. It showed me there are other paths out there for kids.”
This visit marks the beginning of more presentations that will provide students insight into various career paths and life after high school. The Navy’s presence at the school aims to inspire and open doors for students considering their futures.
