Grant presented to City of Bowling Green
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky League of Cities has presented the City of Bowling Green with a KLC Liability Grant.
According to a release by KLC, it has awarded over $6.5 million to its members since 1999 to help fund initiatives to reduce liability for its members.
“Each year, a liability grant is made available through Kentucky League of Cities Insurance – a self-insured, member-owned program through which the city obtains property and casualty insurance coverage. The grant offers reimbursement of expenses for up to $3,000 for projects specifically designed to reduce general, public official, or law enforcement liability,” Bowling Green grants manager Nick Cook said. “In 2024, the city applied for and was once again awarded the maximum grant amount to assist with sidewalk repair costs. The city has obtained sidewalk repair grant money through this program for many years now and works diligently to keep and maintain the city’s many miles of sidewalks in safe condition.”
“Initiatives like the KLC liability grants enhance the quality of life for people who live and work in Kentucky cities,” KLC executive director/CEO J.D. Chaney said. “Providing these grants is just one way the Kentucky League of Cities partners with our members to help reduce liability and support stronger, safer communities.”
The release states KLC Insurance is the Commonwealth’s largest municipal insurance program.
