Celebrating Jerry “Peanuts” Gaines

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Today in Warren County Fiscal Court, dozens of community members gathered to say thank you and congratulations to the retired long-time Warren County sheriff.

Jerry “Peanuts Gaines” served as sheriff for 36 years, 32 of those being consecutive. During those years, he made many friends including sheriffs across the country and even Bill and Hillary Clinton.

Today, Warren County Judge-Executive Doug Gorman along with county magistrates proclaimed January 23 to be Jerry “Peanuts” Gaines Day in Warren County and dedicated part of the new Warren County Sheriff’s Office to Gaines.
