FALLS OF ROUGH, Ky. – One man has been flown to a hospital after authorities say a car struck him in Grayson County on Wednesday evening.

According to the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched shortly after 5:30 p.m. to the 11000 block of Falls of Rough Road in Falls of Rough.

Deputies say 58-year-old Christopher Tanner of Falls of Rough was standing in the southbound lane of KY 79 while wearing a reflective safety vest.

Tanner and two other individuals were attempting to get a truck with a camper attached up his icy driveaway, authorities say. During this time, deputies say Tanner was waving a flashlight facing northbound.

According to deputies, a 2003 Honda Civic driven by 36-year-old Michael Biskup of Falls of Rough was traveling southbound. Biskup stated he did not see Tanner, authorities say.

Biskup’s vehicle struck Tanner, causing him to go into the windshield and on top of the vehicle before breaking the back glass.

Deputies say Tanner was then thrown into the road by the vehicle.

Tanner was transported to the airport at a state park and flown to the University of Louisville Hospital. Authorities say Tanner was in serious condition.

WNKY News 40 media partner K105 states Tanner is the owner of Tanner’s Automotive in the Grayson County area. More here.

No charges were immediately filed, however, toxicology results are pending at this time.

The GCSO was assisted at the scene by the Falls of Rough Volunteer Fire Department and Grayson County EMS.
