Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says to watch for workers

BOLWLING GREEN, Ky. – With the arrival of a wintry mix this past weekend, our area gets ready for yet another potential downfall of precipitation.

News 40 spoke to the Wes Watt, the public information officer for KYTC’s District 3, about prep this season, he said they’re more than ready. Out of the 10 counties that they cover, there’s about 20,000 tons of salt ready to go at a moment’s notice.

Watt said crews were out early Sunday morning and into Monday, treating the roads as well as they could but with temperatures still below freezing, anything on the ground will likely freeze, so motorists should be careful all week.

He also said to look out for any work going on and to make sure you give yourself and roadworkers plenty of room for everyone’s safety.
