Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program deadline approaching

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- As temperatures drop and the holiday season arrives, managing your income can become a difficult task, especially with the added strain of rising living costs.

Community Action of Southern Kentucky is offering support through the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, also known as LIHEAP. This program helps families offset the cost of home heating, ensuring that more people can afford essential needs during the colder months.

To qualify, applicants need to meet certain income and housing requirements, and even if you’ve already paid your heating bill, you may still be eligible for a credit. The program aims to ease the burden for families during the busy holiday season when many are also facing additional expenses like growing kids and rising food costs.

The enrollment deadline for the LIHEAP program is Dec. 20.
