Warren County Schools will enhance security
BOWLING GREEN Ky.-The Warren County Public School District is upgrading its safety procedures for visitors.
The safety upgrade is coming from a partnership between the district and Raptor Technologies. Now, when visitors enter, they’ll be asked to present a photo ID. The ID will then be checked in a national sex offender database.
As of now, Drakes Creek Middle School is the only district school using the new system.
The goal is to have every single school in the county follow the same procedure. The cost is around $15,000 annually.
For the safety of the students and staff, school officials say it’s worth every penny.
“Opportunities for kids are very important, but you can’t have that if the kids don’t feel safe or if parents aren’t comfortable sending kids to your school. That’s why safety has to be number one,” said Warren County Schools chief operations officer Jason Kupchellla.
The Raptor Technologies security system will be available district wide next month.
