VH Dream Center opens overnight shelter
SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – With winter weather right around the corner, having a place to stay warm is a lifesaver for many people without heat and shelter.
The Victory Hill Dream Center is stepping up to help those in need by opening its overnight shelter. With more space and a dedicated team of volunteers, the nonprofit is working tirelessly to ensure no one in the community is left out in the cold.
Cara Ellinger, a volunteer at the Victory Hill Dream Center, explains the importance of community support in making this effort possible.
“The warming center’s able to function because the community is so giving. Whether it’s their time, or they are volunteering overnight, or they are supplying meals or even just partnerships, it really does take a village,” Ellinger says.
The overnight shelter will be open Dec. 11, and the warming center will operate whenever temperatures dip below 32 degrees. The Dream Center is committed to providing a warm and safe place for those in need during the cold months.
