“Bright Lights of Broadway” drive-thru Christmas light display kicks off

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The holiday spirit is in full swing down Scottsville Road in Bowling Green as Monday marked the first night of the “Bright Lights of Broadway”.

The “Bright Lights of Broadway” is a drive-thru Christmas lights event put on by the Greenwood Campus of the Broadway United Methodist Church in an effort to spread Christmas joy to those in the community. Families from all over can enjoy the twinkling lights and all the holiday cheer of the season from the comfort of their vehicle during these chilly December nights.

This is the third year Broadway UMC has put on this event for the community. Laura Vincent, Pastor of the Greenwood Campus said, “We’re a congregation that very much wants to be in this community for this community. So during the season, whenever we are celebrating that Jesus is the light of the world, this is an opportunity for us to offer some light back to the world. And so we hope that it just gives a whole lot of joy to anyone who comes in.”

The event is open to the public every night starting at 5 P.M. from Monday night to Saturday night.

The Greenwood Campus of the Broadway United Methodist Church is also hosting another event on Friday along with the Christmas lights event: The Bright Lights Bash — a free event including crafts for the kids, hot chocolate, cookies, a food truck, and the jolly man dressed in red himself, Santa!
