AAA discusses travel safety this holiday season
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – If you’re heading home for the holidays or just going to see friends, you might want to head out early.
According to AAA, more than 71 million people will travel by car and over 8 million people will be traveling by plane. These projection numbers are up 2% since last year and are expected to climb.
The spokesperson and safety advisor with AAA, Lynda Lambert, emphasizes the importance of getting out on the roads early.
She says, “This Thanksgiving holiday season is going to be record-breaking. Almost 80 million people are traveling all across the country, so that tells you the highways will be busy our airports will be just as crowded.”
She also tells us that AAA updated the range of dates that data is collected because so many people are traveling during the holidays. They are now collecting data from Tuesday to Saturday.
