WCPS excited for the Impact Center for Leadership and Innovation as construction continues
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – As you drive down Interstate 65 or Cumberland Trace Road, you will surely notice construction near the Scottsville Road bridge.
There, a new school like no other is being built on the site of the old Cumberland Trace Elementary school. The Impact Center for Leadership and Innovation will be teaching children form seventh to 12th grades and will be offering opportunities that can’t be found at any other school in the state. From aeronautics and pilot pathways to digital technology and artificial intelligence, the school is looking to be an innovative beacon.
However, school leaders say this school isn’t just about offering cool classes but to prepare the kids of Warren County to become leaders and impact the changing world around them.
“As jobs and things change in the community and in the world, keeping up with change and just really we’re all about offering opportunities, and Warren County safety, achievement, opportunities are our three priorities. Opportunities being being one of those three. So anytime we have the opportunity to to offer more to our students of Warren County, the better we feel like we’re preparing them for life and for the future ahead” principal Cody Rich said.
The Impact Center for Leadership and Innovation has worked closely with many local groups including the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce. The chamber has been working hard with the school to help provide information and resources to make sure the school is a success and opens to the public.
The school has been under construction for many months now and is projected to open for classes in August of 2026.
