First baby box opens in Glasgow
GLASGOW, Ky. – The City of Glasgow has officially launched its first Baby Box at the Glasgow Fire Department, a significant step in supporting new parents.
Dozens of EMS workers, law enforcement officers and community members gathered to celebrate this anonymous resource, which aims to provide a safe option for needy parents.
Chief Lucas Tinsley, who is continuing the former Glasgow fire chief’s legacy, highlighted this initiative’s importance.
“Our mission is service, giving them a safe and viable option for expecting mothers and their newborns,” he stated.
The baby box offers a secure environment for parents to choose a better life for their children, ensuring that both mother and baby are cared for. This resource addresses immediate needs and promotes awareness and support within the community.
The baby box is now ready for use, marking a hopeful chapter for parents seeking assistance. The baby box can be found at 203 South Broadway St. in Glasgow.
