The Core receives donation toward new community center

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – Monday, Oct. 15 was a good day for the Core of Scottsville, who is building toward a goal to benefit the whole community.

Service One Credit Union gave $25,000 to the construction project and spoke briefly to News 40 about the check presented.

Justin Morris, president of Service One, told us that the banking entity is about service to the community just as much as operating in the financial space.

Ernie Stafford, executive director for The Core, said to News 40 that this was a great day, being someone who grew up in the community.

Stafford said there once was a community center, and now the city is without one. The director said this will be a positive addition to the community in the long run, and he’s hoping the community will continue to rally behind the idea.
