Hudson moves to second in WKU all-time single-sport victory ranks
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU Volleyball head coach Travis Hudson notched a pretty big achievement over the weekend with the team’s pair of wins against Jacksonville State.
After Friday’s victory marked win number 760, Hudson became the second winningest coach all-time for WKU in a single sport, passing the legendary E.A. Diddle, and he now only trails Joel Murrie, who tallied 815 wins with the baseball Tops.
Here’s what Hudson had to say about accomplishing something so notable in year 30 on the Hill.
“It’s just an honor to ever be mentioned in the same breath with [Diddle], and to surpass his win total is something that I truly cherish because, like I said, not because it draws attention to me, but because of the respect that I have for the legacy that he left here,” Hudson said. “So that’s a pretty meaningful accomplishment and certainly something that I’m honored and proud of.”
