Kosair for Kids participates in Shriners Children’s College Showdown

LOUISVILLE, Ky.- At UofL’s Jim Patterson Stadium, 150 children, many from Kosair for Kids, took the field for an unforgettable baseball experience during the Shriners Children’s College Showdown.

This special event featured 10 teams in a tournament-style format, creating a memorable day for the young participants and their families.

Coach Dan McDonnell of UofL Baseball expressed the joy and excitement of the event, highlighting how it not only entertained the kids but also provided a heartwarming experience for their parents.

“It’s so much fun for the participants and all those between the lines,” McDonnell said, emphasizing the joy of watching children play alongside talented Louisville Cardinals.

In anticipation of the spring season, Shriners Children’s collaborated with Kosair for Kids to organize this unique opener for the Miracle League of Louisville. The day was a grand slam, filled with cheering families and enthusiastic supporters.

Following the games, the players were honored with medals at a celebratory post-game ceremony, marking the end of an extraordinary event that left a lasting impact on all involved.
