BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU Women’s Tennis Head Coach Greg Davis announced his team’s 2024-25 schedule on Thursday.

The Lady Toppers, who are in the winningest three-year stretch in program history, will play in three events this fall, before kicking off the spring season in mid-January.

The spring regular-season schedule features 24 matches, with 16 of those coming in Bowling Green at either the WKU Tennis Complex on WKU’s South Campus or at the Warren County Tennis Facility at Michael O. Buchanon Park. The 16 home matches are an increase from the 12 the Lady Toppers played during the 2023-24 season.

“We feel this is a very challenging schedule,” Davis said. “Great conference competition versus Liberty and FIU, the two finalists in last year’s Conference USA Tournament. The two Power Four matchups against Cincinnati and Vanderbilt early on, combined with our 16 home matches, make this a very balanced spring schedule.”

WKU will begin the fall in Clarksville, Tennessee, at the APSU Fall Tournament hosted by Austin Peay. The event runs from Sept. 13-15. WKU will continue the fall with a showing at the ITA Regionals in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, from Oct. 10-14, before returning to Murfreesboro for the MTSU Invitational, which will take place Oct. 25-27.

The spring season will begin at home against in-state foe Eastern Kentucky on Thursday, Jan. 16. The Lady Toppers will then hit the road to face Vanderbilt on Sunday, Jan. 19.

WKU will return to Bowling Green for a three-match homestand for contests against SEMO on Friday, Jan. 24; against Lipscomb on Sunday, Jan. 26; and against SIUE on Friday, Jan. 31.

The Lady Toppers will begin the month of February on the road with matches at Northern Kentucky on Friday, Feb. 7, and at Cincinnati on Saturday, Feb. 8. On Tuesday, Feb. 11, WKU will face Austin Peay at home, and on Saturday, Feb. 15, the Lady Toppers will play North Alabama on the road.

WKU returns home for a match with Samford on Wednesday, Feb. 19, and will then go to Belmont on Friday, Feb. 21.

The Lady Toppers follow with seven straight matches at home. They’ll face Missouri State on Sunday, Feb. 23; Eastern Illinois on Friday, Feb. 28; Jax State on Sunday, March 2; Indiana State later in the day on Sunday, March 2; FIU in a Conference USA match on Friday, March 7; Murray State on Sunday, March 9; and Dayton on Saturday, March 15.

WKU will play its second CUSA match on Wednesday, March 19, against UTEP in El Paso, Texas, before coming back to Bowling Green for matches against St. Thomas on Thursday, March 27, and UAB on Saturday, March 29.

The Lady Toppers will have two trips to Lynchburg, Virginia, in April. They’ll start the month with a regular-season match there on Saturday, April 5, before facing Middle Tennessee on the road on Tuesday, April 8. WKU’s regular-season finale will come at home against Alabama A&M on Thursday, April 10. The CUSA Tournament will be hosted by Liberty in Lynchburg, Virginia, and it is scheduled for April 17-20.

WKU returns four of its eight players from the 2024-25 season in Sofia Blanco, Sunskrithi Damera, Rachel Hermanova and Mariana Zegada. Davis brought in four newcomers during the offseason – Stephen F. Austin transfer Carolina Chiatti, Nevada transfer Mia Miranda, Marshall transfer Emily Schut and Valparaiso transfer Elizabeth Sobieski.

The Lady Toppers are coming off a 14-11 season in 2024, which tied for fourth-most wins in a single season in program history. WKU is in its winningest three-year stretch in program history, with 47 wins coming during that period.
