State funding awarded to local non-profits
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Recently, the Kentucky Justice & Public Safety Cabinet awarded money to a variety of non-profits, some of which are in the South Central Kentucky region.
Of the awarded organizations, CASA of Southern Kentucky, Barren River Area Safe Space, Barren River Area Child Advocacy Center and Hope Harbor, News 40 spoke to Hope Harbor Executive Director Melissa Whitley about the good news.
Whitley said both donations and grants are invaluable for non-profits to carry out their missions. Whitley explained that oftentimes, grants will match donations meaning they are equal in a sense.
