WKU football finalizes game plan for Alabama
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – While the high school football season kicked off last week, college football is right around the corner, and WKU is preparing to kick things off at SEC powerhouse Alabama.
In just three days, the Tops will be in Tuscaloosa to take on the Crimson Tide in their opening game of the season.
After Head Coach Tyson Helton announced earlier this week that Texas State transfer TJ Finley has officially been named the starting quarterback for WKU, the Tops can now finalize their game plan before marching into Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday.
A few of the Hilltoppers shared their excitement during practice this week.
“I’m feeling great about this first game,” Anthony Johnson Jr. said. “I feel like we got a great game plan set up. A lot of pieces that are coming back this year. A lot of new pieces that’s going to make their mark in this game. I feel great about it.”
The game plan we got in this week, we’re just working at it, repping it and learning it inside and out. River Helms said. “They’re just people like we are, so I am not really worried about much.”
“We’re just going to do what we do,” Jayden Loving said. “Everybody can be beat. That’s all it is. Everybody can be beat. They bleed just like I bleed. I’m going to go to work.”
