Corvette Caravan set to come to Bowling Green, how will it impact traffic?

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Warren County drivers, you may want to pay attention, as there’s a large event that may impact your commute.

The Corvette Caravan & Anniversary Celebration kicks off at the National Corvette Museum on Wednesday. You can see a look at footage of the Caravan from its stop in Hattiesburg, Mississippi as it makes it way to Bowling Green above.

Kentucky Transportation Cabinet officials say the heaviest points of traffic will be from 9 AM to 5 PM in the northern parts of Warren County, including Louisville Road, Porter Pike, Corvette Drive and exit 28 of I-65.

“There’s been lots of planning and advanced placement of things, so everything is well organized… but any time we have this type of large event coming all at once, it’s going to create some extra congestion… so we just want people to be aware of that… and people are encouraged to avoid those areas if possible,” Public Information Officer for KTC District 3 Wes Watt says.

He also says they’ve been in constant communication with Corvette Museum staff to make sure school pick up and drop off will not be affected by the Caravan, and buses are able to take their normal routes.
