Intermittent closures set for Romanza Johnson Park, construction soon complete

WARREN COUNTY, Ky. – It will be closing off and on for the next few weeks, but we’re told that it will be a big payoff.

Romanza Johnson Park in Warren County is undergoing a facelift for the next few weeks. It started in December of 2023 with redoing the boat ramp, and now things are really picking up with the building of sidewalks, steps onto the bank of the river and a picnic area.

Warren County Stormwater has been utilizing a grant awarded to them to invest in the community, and going into this fall, it’s looking to be a big change.

News 40 Spoke to Warren County Parks & Recreation director Chris Kummer about the progress on Tuesday. He said while it may be a minor inconvenience, the transformation will be inspiring.

Kummer estimates construction will take another four weeks so they park will be open and closed off and on.
