Free rabies shot and microchip clinic taking place this weekend

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- For every dog, cat and even ferret, rabies shots are a crucial health measure, and the city is stepping up to provide this essential service for free.

On Aug. 17, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., or while supplies last, Parker-Benet-Curry Elementary will host a free rabies and microchip clinic for pets of those who live in city limits.

Pam Boose, a code compliance specialist, shares, “This is our sixth one. We started in March 2023. It’s a free service for the public.”

Animal control staff will be present to manage any pets that might be a bit feisty, and muzzles will be available if needed. The event aims to help pet owners keep their animals safe and compliant with health regulations.

It’s an excellent opportunity for pet owners to ensure their pets are protected and microchipped at no cost.
