Glasgow fire chief retiring after 23 years
GLASGOW, Ky.- The Glasgow Fire Department is bidding farewell to a cornerstone of its team as fire chief William Rock retires after 23 years of dedicated service.
Rock, known for his innovative approach and strong community ties, has been a vital force in advancing the department and connecting with residents across the Commonwealth.
In a recent interview, Rock expressed what he will miss most about his role: the warmth and support of the Glasgow community.
“It’s amazing how welcoming everyone has been,” he said. “Whether I’m in uniform or out, they’ve made this the easiest, hardest job I’ve ever had.”
As he steps down, Rock hopes the next fire chief will continue to foster strong relationships and support the firefighters and community.
