Expect letters from the Transportation Cabinet

BARREN COUNTY, KY.- Over 4,000 letters have been sent to Kentucky residents by the Transportation Cabinet, and officials are urging recipients not to ignore them. These letters are crucial; failing to address them could result in a $40 fine and the potential removal of your license plate by law enforcement.

Helena Birdwell, Barren County Clerk, stressed the importance of acting on these notices, advising residents to visit their county clerk’s office promptly. “Whether you live in Berrien County, Warren County, or anywhere else in Kentucky, make sure to address the letter you receive,” Birdwell said.

Upon receiving the notice, individuals have 30 days to present proof of insurance at their county clerk’s office without facing penalties. Ignoring the notice could lead to significant inconvenience and additional costs. For more information or assistance, contact your local county clerk’s office.

You will be receiving these letters if your information is not verified in Kentucky’s insurance system.
