(CNN) – NBC Universal got a major boost from the Paris Olympics.

The company says an average of 30.6 million people watched its daily coverage.

That’s 82% more viewers than the Summer Olympics three years ago in Tokyo.

A key factor this year was streaming.

NBC says between daytime and nightly prime-time coverage, it saw a record 23.5 billion minutes of viewing time on Peacock and its other digital outlets.

One of the biggest events was the gold medal game for men’s basketball between the U.S. and France.

It averaged 19.5 million viewers, making it the most watched gold medal hoops contest since 1996.
