Changes at Bowling Green Daily News lead to new publisher & ownership changing to ParkMobile lot

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Change is coming to the Bowling Green Daily News, both in staffing and with their parking lot.

There’s a new but familiar face in charge… the one and only Joe Imel has been named publisher of the paper after more than 30 years of experience.

“I never dreamed that I would be the publisher of the paper when I got here in 1991 and started shooting pictures,” Imel says. “If you’d asked me even ten years ago if I’d be publisher of the paper… I would have just said you’re crazy… but it’s an honor… it means a lot to me. Bowling Green’s home… and it’s a great community and great people… and I’m thrilled with all the people that we cover all the stories that we tell all of our businesses that we help out and our fellow media partners. It’s a great community to be in.”

Another change revolves around their parking lot, which is run by the owners of the property. It will now become a ParkMobile pay lot.

“In Bowling Green, you just assume small town… you want to be able to park where you can… but it will be tough at first… but it wasn’t my choice. We leased the building, and it was the owners of the property that wanted to do it… and I understand that… and I support them. It’s their property, and they should be able to do what they want with it,” Imel says.
