Pedestrian runs into emergency vehicle in Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Emergency crews responded to an injury accident around 2 p.m. Friday afternoon.

According to the Bowling Green Police Department, an emergency vehicle was responding to a potential water rescue. While on the way, a 19-year-old male crossed the intersection of Nashville Road and Campbell Lane, causing the fire apparatus to hit the pedestrian.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

A statement from the Bowling Green Fire Department included the following, according to public information officer Katie McKee:

“One of our units was responding to a potential water rescue. The emergency vehicle pulling the boat trailer (pickup truck) was clearing an intersection when a pedestrian ran into the side of the truck. The pedestrian got up and walked away from the scene, later calling for medical assistance. The individual is being treated at a local hospital.”
