Phoenix Rising fundraiser for sex trafficking victims at Downtown Chiropractic
BOWLING GREEN, KY.- Many children across the state of Kentucky are affected by sex trafficking and moving on from the tragic experience is not easy. Phoenix Rising and Downtown Chiropractic are coming together to help children who have been victims of sex trafficking.
People are providing anything from toothpaste to school supplies and even a bag to maintain their necessities because these life-changing tragedies can occur closer to you than you think.
Dr. Bradley Greenwell, a chiropractor at Downtown Chiropractic says, “Sex trafficking is not a big city problem. It’s right here in Bowling Green. I’ve always thought of it as like a Chicago or a New York issue. And if there are kids right here in Bowling Green that this has happened to, and we need to help our own people.”
Caring for children who have been sex trafficked can not only help the children now. It can also impact cases that will likely occur in the future.
Sarah Jane Zink president of Phoenix Rising tells us, “There’s so many that we don’t know about, and we learn about them a lot later, so a lot of the children that we help are now teenagers and were impacted when they were much younger. but there are literally thousands of children here in Kentucky that are impacted by sex trafficking.”
The fundraiser is going on throughout the rest of July and you can drop off toiletries, school supplies even toys at Downtown Chiropractic.
