Hot Rod MotorTel honors drag racer Dickie Ogles
BUTLER COUNTY, Ky. – The racing community in South Central Kentucky came together to honor one of their own, who is one of the most influential racers in the community.
Dickie Ogles has been in racing for over 50 years, and this year, the Hot Rod MotorTel decided to honor him at their annual Cruise-In.
The racing community came out in droves to show their love to Dickie, who says he was overwhelmed by how many people made their way to Butler County.
“I just appreciate all of y’all,” Ogles says. “I didn’t know I had this much influence on people, but… guess I did… but I’m still 29… Thank you very much for showing up.”
The Hot Rod MotorTel is located in the Little Muddy community just across the Butler County line and is designed to look like a vintage Shell gas station.
Ogles told us he saw so many people shocked at how beautiful it is, and that he’s grateful to everyone who showed up saying it made him feel good.
