Logan County Fair hosts Diaper Derby races as part of Faith & Family Night
RUSSELLVILLE, Ky. – The Logan County Fair may have kicked off earlier this week, but for some parents, the main event of the festivities happened on Wednesday.
The Diaper Derby consists of 3 divisions: crawlers, walkers and runners.
Each child will make their way from one parent to another, with the winners earning trophies.
We were able to speak to one of the crawler division winners and his mom, who gave us a little insight into how they prepared for such a big opportunity.
“We did lots of pep talks last night before he went to bed for bedtime. We did lots of pep talks today and he did amazing. I was super proud of him… of course it was all fun & games, but… proud mom moment,” Autumn, mother to Lincoln, says.
Life Choice Pregnancy Center organizes the derby, and they say this is a fun opportunity for little kids to have some fun while the rest of the family enjoys the fair rides.
“Logan County is such an awesome community. There’s a lot of faith and fellowship here… and so when you see all the churches partnering together, that’s really what the community should be about… and it gives an opportunity for families to just come together and enjoy lots of things… and then especially that opportunity for the preschoolers to have something just for them,” Melanie Manley, executive director for Life Choice says.
The fair continues throughout the rest of the weekend, with the tractor pulls on Thursday, pageant on Friday & demolition derby on Saturday.
As for Wednesday, it was also Stuff the Bus Night, where the local nonprofit paid for the first 50 kids to get into the carnival portion of the fair… so crawl, walk, run… do whatever you need to do to get to Russellville and have some fun at the Logan County Fair.
