BGFD responds to Walgreens on 31W Bypass

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Bowling Green Fire Department responded to reports of a structure fire at Walgreens on the 31W Bypass.

Fortunately, no one was injured, as all customers and employees made it out of the store safely.

We spoke to a local electrician, who happened to be waiting in line for medicine when everything started.

He tells us from what he saw, he believes a transformer blew, and urges everyone to be careful if you happen to come across wires that are loose.

“With that, you got to be careful with wires laying on a dropped ceiling… could catch the building on fire. and with that amount of smoke… it’s just safer to get out of the way, and try to take care of it from outside,” Jeremy Taylor says.
