South Warren Tennis Finishes Strong Season at State Tournament

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Tuesday in Lexington, tennis teams from across the state participated in the boy’s and girl’s state semifinal and championship matches, and one Warren County team was in action.

The South Warren Lady Spartan girls’ team wrapped up their season finishing in the semifinal round, falling to Sacred Heart, who went on to win the state title.
The girls’ team set a school record in wins, and the boys’ team also had a stellar year, finishing as region runners-up.
Jackson Donovan had some success in singles play, finishing top-16 in the state tournament last week.
After one of the best overall seasons in school history, the team’s head coach, Chad Young, shared his thoughts.
“I’m really proud of our kids. I’m thankful for the support of our school and our parents,” Young said. “You know, the kids have worked really hard, and the program’s been around for about 14 years and just to have the success that we’ve had this this week is really kind of overwhelming with how far our program’s come in the last 14 years.”
