How to safely discard debris in Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- The City of Bowling Green says it is working on removing debris.

More than 50 different addresses have already called the City of Bowling Green for help removing debris all over their neighborhood and damage to their homes.

Many people are out picking up big branches and trying to fix the damage done, but when you’re picking up, it’s important to remain safe by taking your time and watching for any harmful objects that might have hidden under the branches.

Andy Souza, the director of Public Works City of Bowling Green, shares “These are some big trees that are down across the city. You can hurt yourself by lifting these up. a lot of them have power lines in them, and, you never know if that line is still alive. So let the professionals deal with it. So if you have any doubts whatsoever, call the professionals. ”

The city will begin picking up the debris when you pull it toward the street, and the tree limbs must be broken down.
