Spreading adoption awareness at Sugarfoot Farm Rescue

ADAIR COUNTY, Ky.- A local organization is working to bring more awareness to pet adoption and some normal struggles that come with adding a new family member.

When you adopt a pet, you’re not only taking home a pet, you’re also taking home a responsibility.

All dogs are unique and come from different backgrounds. It may be easier for one dog to adjust than another and that’s normal.

According to Peg Schaeffer, the founder of Sugarfoot Farm Rescue, understand that all dog need attention and care from their owners. She says, “You know, pets are supposed to be a lifetime commitment, not just until you got something better that comes along. They need a home. They need to know that there’s still love.”

Sugarfoot Farm Rescue and other local shelters are encouraging everyone to be patient with your pets. Some may take three days, and others may take three months to be adjusted.
