Glasgow celebrates 225th Birthday

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. The city of Glasgow is celebrating a huge milestone, being around for 225 years, and they’re inviting everyone to come celebrate.

News 40 spoke to the mayor of Glasgow, Henry Royse, who said that the festivities kick off Thursday with a special presentation from local historian Sam Terry along with the unveiling of never-before-seen documents dating back to the origin of the town.

On Friday, May 10, there will be birthday cakes available at city hall during daytime hours then several food trucks and inflatables at 5 p.m. for the kids. Royse was happy to announce that Celtic band Seven Nations will make an appearance Friday evening as well.
