UK HealthCare expert shares advice for Mental Health Awareness Month
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- Mental health can affect anyone, and during Mental Health Awareness Month, we want to do our best to help.
Mental health is not easy to maintain, but there are a few practical ways to manage your mental health. You can volunteer meditate or just get out of the house.
We sat down with the UK HealthCare chief nursing officer, Marc Woods, and he told us more people are struggling than we know. He says,
“It’s a rare Kentuckian that has that that has not been touched, with, by mental illness in some fashion. if we’re taking care of ourselves, I think we have a better opportunity to kind of help those around us and recognize some of those changes and behaviors.”
Some changes can be in a person’s behavior or what they wear. Changes can be subtle, but they can impact someone’s life, in a major way. The goal of this month is to reduce the stigma and support those who struggle with mental health. You can start by educating yourself or just simply reaching out to those who may be struggling.
