WKU is celebrating the graduation of thousands of students this week
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – It is finals week on the hill, which means Western Kentucky University is wrapping up for the semester, and thousands of proud Hilltopper students are set to graduate.
On Thursday, May 2, 2024, graduating students will participate in a Topper Walk, and end up at the L.T. Smith Stadium for the commencement ceremony. Following this will be a Big Red Bash on South Lawn to celebrate with food, music and a firework show. College recognition ceremonies will take place on Friday.
Jace Lux, director of media relations at WKU, says, “We’re just really excited that even though many of these students missed a typical traditional high school graduation ceremony they’re going get to experience a very typical, and a very exciting and celebratory here as they graduate from WKU.”
The Universities Commencement Ceremony will also be commissioning the nation’s newest military officers, and this year, close to 20 individuals will finish at WKU and immediately be commissioned to the armed forces.
