Hope Harbor to host annual ‘Take Back the Night’ event
Bringing awareness to sexual violence
BOWLING GREEN, KY.- Spreading knowledge about sexual violence, and the impact it has on so many lives can go a long way.
Hope Harbor is giving the entire community the chance to learn at its annual take back the night event. It’s happening later this week filling the evening with empowerment and awareness against sexual violence.
Emily Luttrell, a community educator at Hope Harbor shares the effects events like these have on survivors. She says,
“We are bringing attention towards an issue that often gets swept under the rug. Or is actually often blamed on the survivor or victim themselves, and also just to show the survivors that they do have a community behind them.”
You can support survivors at the Take Back the Night event this Friday from 5 p.m.- 7:30 p.m at First Christian Church.
