BRASS provides a helping hand to dress for change
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Getting a fresh start on life may be challenging, but one local agency is working to make at least one aspect of making that change a little easier. Beginning this week, Bowling Green Area Safe Space is kicking off a 4-week initiative called Dress for Change that allows anyone in need to make an appointment to stop in and pick out articles of new or gently-used clothing. The goal is to help address the need for professional-looking clothing for job interviews. Rebecca Troxell said part of being a successful job interviewee is looking professional and comfortable. She said the more people who use B.R.A.S.S.’ service, the better.
The clothing comes from donations from retailers such as Cato’s, Dillard’s and Macy’s as well as private donations of gently-used clothing from individuals. The program is supported totally by donations of clothing and does not use money from B.R.A.S.S.’ budget.
If you have clothing you would like to donate gently used, professional clothing or if you would like to schedule an appointment to use the Dress for Change service, you can call the B.R.A.S.S. office at 270-781-9334.
