Center for Courageous Kids creating mission minded people at annual luncheon
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- The Center for Courageous Kids gives organizations and individuals an experience that will enrich their communication to inspire others to amplify and strengthen their communication.
Emily Cosby, the marketing officer for C. C.K. says, “Our community is so invested in our community, and this is really an opportunity for individuals to take a little bit of time for themselves so that what they can give back can be magnified.”
The nonprofit hosts this every year, with the hope that people leave inspired. This year the luncheon went above and beyond to ensure that everyone is more encouraged to communicate effectively.
Scott Harvey, the speaker during the luncheon and owner of Speaking of Harvey Inc. says, “CCK is kind of breaking the mold. This was a luncheon to give back to the community. We live in a world where we’re so afraid to say the wrong thing that we end up saying nothing, and the problem is, our silence does more damage than actually saying the wrong thing.”
With the world constantly changing, Scott also says the way we communicate with one another also has a massive impact on future generations. He told us, “Kids today, I think they grew up in a virtual world, especially during the pandemic. All they knew was virtual communication and they thought that’s what they wanted, but when it became only virtual, they really hungered for the face-to-face human connection.”
This luncheon will not only affect the people who experienced it, they will maximize the knowledge gained and teach others.
Emily says, “In a way it takes a little bit of time out of their day, it really gives them something to think about and something that they can immediately apply to their lives to make them better today, but also make them better for the future. ”
