Bowling Green Fire Department holds ribbon cutting for Station 8 at Kentucky Transpark
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The grand opening of a new fire station in Bowling Green was celebrated Wednesday.
Station 8 of the BGFD is now open, bringing eight new firefighters to serve the Kentucky Transpark.
The station is located off Glasgow Road, near the Transpark.
Fire Chief Justin Brooks says this new location will allow the fire department to serve the largest growing part of Bowling Green, and is a major boost for a community that continues to win.
“It seems like every week, a new business decides to join… and why would you not want to join this city? We continue to win! From the fire department’s perspective and from our mission, we can’t afford to lose. This station allows us to win… everybody wins today, but more importantly, the big winners are the citizens,” he says.
Chief Brooks also says he’s excited that the Transpark area will be protected by at least four of these new firefighters 24/7, 365 days a year.
Station 8 is already in use by the BGFD as they serve, save and protect the community.
