Cruisin’ for a Cure returns for their 15th season of raising money for charities
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A local favorite event is celebrating its 15th year of raising money and showcasing classic cars.
Cruisin’ for a Cure is back and still going strong in the Bowling Green community helping to raise money for the JDRF One Walk for Type 1 Diabetes, the Alzheimer’s Association, Hospice of Southern Kentucky and the Kelly Autism Program at Western Kentucky University.
The owner of Bruster’s says how much an event like this means to the community.
“What it does for me is whenever I see the community come out and support them… it just makes my heart have great joy because it wouldn’t be worthwhile if the community didn’t support it,” Robert Alford says.
Cruisin’ for a Cure tried to start up their season earlier this year, but the weather caused them to push back their first night to April 16.
The car show takes place every Tuesday until October in the Southern Lanes parking lot behind Bruster’s Ice Cream.
