Heart of Scottsville hosts First Friday Festival for the first time in 2024
SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – The Heart of Scottsville has been putting an initiative of community pride into effect, starting with the First Fridays Festival.
The night featured a car show, live entertainment, local vendors and food. Plus, a way to raise money for the Allen County Backpack program, which helps feed the hungry in the community.
Billy Michael Taylor, the President of the Scottish Rites club, who helps raise money for these backpacks says how much the money from events like these means to the kids the program helps.
“It’s a lot of things good for the kids because a lot of these kids, they don’t have nothing to eat. So each week or day they’re going to have a backpack that’s full of food,” he says.
The First Fridays Festival started their season in April and will run all the way through December.
