Kentucky Science Center shows interest in Bowling Green location

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – There might be some good news for science lovers in south-central Kentucky with the Kentucky Science Center looking to branch out across the state.

News 40 spoke to Telia Butler on Monday, who serves as Bowling Green’s downtown development coordinator. She said that a couple of months ago, the center reached out to the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce about setting some new roots. Butler said some team members from the KSC have toured Warren County but will be returning for a longer look around town at the end of this month.

With the interest expressed from KSC, the city and KSC are asking locals to fill out a survey posted on the city website and Downtown BGKY Facebook page to gauge the interests and needs of the community.

Butler said it’s an exciting thing for the area because Bowling Green currently does not have a science based attraction and hasn’t had one since the Barren River Imagination Museum shut it doors in 2020.
